The RE‑USE project in Hradec Králové

The RE‑USE project is run by Hradecké služby in cooperation with the City of Hradec Králové and the municipal organizations Městské lesy Hradec Králové a.s. and Technické služby Hradec Králové a.s.

All funds raised through the project are donated to the restoration of greenery in municipal forests and parks as part of public collections.

The main objective of the project is to prevent waste generation through the reuse of items, thereby reducing the amount of waste produced. However, the RE‑USE project has more benefits for the city and its residents:

• Prevention of waste generation – items do not become waste, but are used by someone else.
• Raising funds that are used for public benefit.
• Helping fellow citizens who are in a difficult financial situation – thanks to the project, they can obtain inexpensive household equipment, toys, and children's supplies, etc.

The project has been operating in Hradec Králové since July 2020, when the first RE‑USE point was launched at the Bratří Štefanů collection yard. Since February 2022, the project has been implemented in all four collection yards in the city.

Gift vouchers for any amount can also be purchased at RE‑USE points.

Citizens can donate items they no longer need to the project, in particular:

• Small furniture (chairs, tables, cabinets, lighting fixtures)
• Glass, porcelain, and ceramic tableware
• Pots, pans, baking trays
• Paintings, picture frames, vases, home decorations, flower pots
• Media products (books, CDs, DVDs, vinyl records)
• Toys, strollers, children's equipment
• Sports equipment (including bicycles and winter sports equipment)
• Tools
• Functional household appliances

Due to capacity reasons, we only accept larger furniture (wardrobes, tables, beds) at the Temešvár collection yard.

Items included in the project may only be transferred to other persons upon payment of a fee according to the current price list and issuance of a cash receipt.

The staff decides on the inclusion of items in the project and the setting of the selling price.

The opening hours of RE‑USE points are the same as the operating hours of collection yards for citizens.
