Do you know that the outcome of a recycling process may be your new jacket?

Waste recycling process starts in your household. No doubt you manage that well. But do you know what happens to waste after you throw it into a waste container?

  1. Waste is transported to our multifunctional centres.
  2. After that it is separated to single-sort materials.
  3. The separated material is pressed into bales.
  4. Regranulate and other intermediate products are made.
  5. These intermediate products are used in the production of final products that afterwards go to a market.

How is paper recycled?

  • In compliance with ČSN/EN 643 standard paper is separated into about 50 different sorts, such as newspapers, office paper, corrugated cardboard, paper shreds etc.
  • Separated paper is pressed into bales in our production centres.
  • Depending on technical conditions, bales of separated paper are sent to paper mills not only in the Czech Republic but also in the whole of Europe.
  • Waste paper is used for the production of new paper or is added to blends, depending on the level of technologies of a particular paper mill.

How is plastic recycled?

PET bottles:

  • PET bottles are sorted by colour - clear, blue, green and other colours.
  • They are pressed into bales.
  • Then they are delivered to firms for further processing where PET bottles are pressed, washed and turned into „flaks“,as they are called.
  • Fibres, textiles, padding of car interior, new bottles and other products are made  from  this material.

Plastic film:

  • Plastic film is separated into clear and coloured polyethylene film (PE).
  • It is pressed into bales and further processed into regranulate.
  • That material is added to the mixture used for the production of plastic film.
  • Due to the lack of purity a huge amount of plastic film must be exported to Asia.

Plastic polyethylene hollow packages of chemist´s products (HDPE):

  • They are separated and pressed into bales.
  • They are processed in a similar way to PET bottles and PE film.

Polyethylene strips (PE strips):

  • They are separated and pressed into bales and further processed into regranulate.

Polypropylene film (PP):

  • It is separated and further processed into regranulate.

Other hard plastic such as plastic toys, cans, flower pots, cups etc.:

  • They are pressed.
  • They are further used for the production of grassing breeze blocks, fencing segments etc.

There is a wide  array of other types of plastic coming from industrial production that are sorted and further processed. The abbreviations of chemical or brand names are for example: ABS, PA, PS, PUR, PVC etc. Processing and recycling of these materials is subject to specific technical conditions.

How is glass recycled?

  • Glass is sorted into clear, brown and green glass, and also glass panes.
  • Glassworks then use the material for the production of new glass, mostly container glass.
