Do you know that the waste from construction sites and demolitions can be recycled as well?

How is the waste from construction sites and demolitions produced?

The waste from construction sites and demolitions is produced during:

  • construction works,
  • building maintenance,
  • reconstruction works,
  • demolition works.

What are the advantages of recycling the waste from construction sites and demolitions?

By recycling this waste we can produce materials for further use in civil engineering that can substitute natural materials. As a result, the mining of raw materials in stone and sand quarries decreases and that leads to the reduction of construction-material production costs.

Suitable materials for further use are e.g. concrete, brick, rubble (mixture of concrete, bricks, tiles and ceramic products).

How is the waste from construction sites and demolitions recycled?

The waste from construction sites and demolitions is delivered to waste recycling centres where it is gathered and separated by type. This waste must not contain other undesirable waste, such as wood, plastic or metal.

The waste is powderized and the outcome of the subsequent sorting process is recycled material.

This recycled material is convenient for further use, e.g. for terrain modifications, and most frequently it is used as foundation and filling material.
